The Recap of The Royals You Love:Oct 16-22

Belgium:


-Crown Prince Philippe & Crown Princess Mathilde's oldest daughter and future Queen Regent, Princess Elisabeth will celebrate her 10th birthday next week. On this occasion, The Royal Palace has released a new photo of the Princess, along with her parents. Also, this week, The Crown Prince and Princess are on a trade mission with China, meeting with various leaders of China on a 9-day, 6-city tour of China. Monaco:


-Prince Albert & Princess Charlene are in New Zealand, attending the Rugby World Cup. While in New Zealand, they attended the Semi-Final match between France and Wales, and will be attending the France vs. New Zealand final match on Oct 23. Instead of attending the New Zealand Olympic Comittee Centennial Gala, the Princely newlyweds "jettedacross the Tasman Sea" for the day. According to the New Zealand Herald during their stay in New Zealand,  they newlyweds were turned away from dining at a popular New Zealand pub. The United Kingdom:

-HM Queen Elizabeth opened The Round Square International Conference at Wellington College on Oct 17. View photos Here. Also in attendace were former King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. HM Queen Elizabeth II has agreed to keep her Golden Jubilee events with in the first five months of the year in order not to overshadow the Olympics. Read more on that announcement here.

-Prince Phillip, Duke of Endinburgh attended a reception for alumni of the Commonwealth Studies Conference that also included remarks by Australian Governor-General Quentin Bryce.

-Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall  attended  the War Horse: Fact and Fiction exhibition at the National Army Museum on October 19, 2011 in London, England. The Duchess, President of the Brooke charity toured the new exhibition as well as attending a reception. Photo

-Prince Harry has continued with his military training in the United States, and has even reportedly found a "replacement" for long time on-and off again girlfriend Chelsey Davy, a fellow trainee Jessica Donaldson. {more}.

Prince Andrew, Duke of York is adamant of his two daughters, HRH Princess Beatrice and HRH Princess Eugenie's protection and privacy-insisting that they should be entitled to Royal Protection Officers, and all of the other "privileges" that come along with being the daughters of a prince with the styles HRH (something that sets them apart from cousins Zara & Louise). He is attempting to do this by bringing his daughters on tag-a-longs on his own personal royal duties. Recently, he brought Princess Eugenie to visit a hospital and to an official visit to a leisure centre in Newcastle, while Princess Beatrice attended Fashion Week in Paris. -Princess Beatrice of York is in the US this week, in Las Vegas to be exact. She was spotted attending  the 7:30 p.m. performance of "O" by Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio with longtime boyfriend American David Clark. The pair is said to have enjoyed a drink during the performance-a frozen cocktail for her and a beer for him-after the show, they went backstage to meet the cast. On their way out of the theatre, they stopped to look at sculptures in the Art of Richard MacDonald Gallery before heading to dinner. Prior to their stop in Las Vegas they were spotted in San Francisco, California and New Mexico. Photos.

-Sophie, Countess of Wessex flew to Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom to visit three new centres across the town on Oct 20th. First, She officially opened the Suffolk One sixth form centre and met a number of students currently on a business enterprise scheme at the Ipswich centre. She also watched a musical performance of We Will Rock You, met art students and found out about charity projects before unveiling a plaque at the Scrivener Drive site. -Anne, The Princess Royal attended  a ceremony to celebrate the town gaining the title Royal Wootton Bassett on October 16, 2011 in Royal Wootton Bassett, England on Oct 16. The Princess Royal also stepped in to present the investitures At Windsor Castle to the newest members of various orders including: Officer of the British Empire, Member of the British Empire, The Order of the Bath, and The New Zealand Bravery Decoration.View photos: Event 1, Event 2

Denmark


-Crown Prince Fredrick and Crown Princess Mary attended  a tour and ceremony at the National September 11 Memorial October 21, 2011 in New York City, also in attendance were dignitaries from other Nordic nations, view photos here. -While her parents and younger sister are attending to duties in the United States, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are continuing to prepare for their new baby that is due in March of 2011.

Norway:

-Crown Prince Haakon opened Dignity Day at Stovner Secondary School in Oslo, Norway on Oct 20. Dignity Day is an independent and not-for-profit organization, and its main goals are to initiate a conversation about dignity, as well as leadership inspired by dignity, with today’s youth. Read more.

Spain


-Queen Sofia, Prince Felipe, and Princess Letizia attended Day 2 of the Principes de Asturias Awards 2011. Principes de Asturias Awards are a series of annual prizes awarded in Spain by the Prince of Asturias Foundation to individuals, entities or organizations from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs. -Prince Felipe, and Princess Letizia attended the official presentation of Miguel Delibes Foundation at Centro Cultural Miguel Delibes on October 17, 2011 in Valladolid, Spain. Photos

Indonesia:


-There was yet-another Royal Wedding (that makes 7 this year!). This time, it was Indonesia's youngest daughter of Yogyakarta King Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, GKR Bendara to her husband KPH Yudanegara on October 18th (Royal Bride Profile to come soon! :)). {Source}

-On the occaision of her 77th Birthday, HM The Emperoress Michiko has granted a photo release and interview to the Royal Press Agency

Saudi Arabia


-As previously reported, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud died at the age of 83 on Saturday the 22nd. His burial will take place on October 24th.
