Royal Profile: HRH Princess Bhajara Kittiyabha of Thailand

 HRH Princess  Bhajara Kittiyabha of Thailand was born 7 December 1978, the eldest child of  The Crown Prince & Princess Soamsavali. She is the eldest of King Rama IX's grandchildren Her parents divorced when she was 13 years old. She has six younger half siblings:
  • HSH Prince Juthavachara Mahidol, (age 33)
  • HSH Prince Vacharaesorn Mahidol,(age 31)
  • HSH Prince Chakriwat Mahidol,  (age 29)
  • HSH Prince Vacharaesorn Mahidol,  (age 27)
  • HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana (age 25)
  • HRH Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti (age 7)

As a youngster, she attended  an all-girls school, The Rajini School. For her high school years, she began to study in England at The Heatfield School, before returning to Thailand o study at Chitralada school. After high school, she attended Thammasat University and Sukhothai Thammatirat University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Law& Political Science, with first class honors. Upon recieving that degree, the young Princess moved to the United States to study at Cornell University , where she earned a JSD in Law in 2005. She also earned a Doctorate of law honoris causa (honorary degree) from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in May 2012. 

She worked for a time at the Thai Permanent mission to the UN in NYC, prior to returning for a time to Thailand. In September 2006, she was appointed as Attorney of the Office of the Attorney General in Bangkok, and is presently appointed to Office of the Attorney General of Udonthani province. She runs the "Kamlangjai" or "Inspire" project to reach out to Thai women in incarceration including pregnant inmates and their babies, and intends to assure that female and pregnant inmates are given adequate assistance and prepare them to mingle with society after their releases. She is also working on the project called "ELFI" - "Enhancing lives of Female Inmates", which proposes new rules on the treatment of women prisoners and non-custodial measures for women offenders as a supplement to the 1955 Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners. Another project that the princess is taking care of is "Friend in need of "PA" " or "Princess Pa foundation". On September 4, 2012 she was named Ambassador to the Republic of Austria.
