Royal Profile: Princess Stéphanie, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg

Princess Stéphanie, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg was born 18 February 1984, in Ronse, Belgium  and is the youngest of eight children of Count Philippe de Lannoy and the late Countess
Alix de Lannoy{Source}. 

She attended the Dutch-speaking  Sancta Maria School for her primary education {Source}. After attending Stacta Maria, she moved on to her secondary education, spending two years at  Collège Sainte-Odile in France{Source}, before returning to Belgium to attend Institut de la Vierge Fidèle, to complete her primary education in 2002{Source}. Upon graduation, she moved to Moscow, Russia, where she studied Russian language and literature and to further develop her violin skills {Source}. She also studied at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, here she obtained a degree in Germanic philology {Source}. She also studied in Berlin, Germany, where she did a graduation project on the influence of German Romanticism on Russian Romanticism  {Source}.

While in Berlin, she began her career as a trainee with the Walloon Export Agency under the aegis of the Belgian Embassy {Source}. After that, she returned to Belgium to work for an investment fund company{Source}. 

The future Grand Duchess of Luxembourg has a great interest in classical music {Source}. In her youth, she studied both piano and violin {Source}. She also is very passionate about language, and speaks several fluently including French, German, English and is learning Luxembourgish {Source}. 

She is also an active volunteer, mostly working with youth groups {Source}. In her freetime, she enjoys skiing and swimming {Source}.

She began to date the future grand duke of Luxembourg in 2009 or 2010 after meeting through mutual friends.  On 27 April 2012, their engagement was announced {Source}. They were married that fall {Source}.

Since becoming Hereditary Grand Duchess in October 2012, she has made a trip to China in the company of her husband on behalf of Luxembourg {Source}
