Royal Profile: Prince Moritz of Liechtenstein

Prince Moritz Emanuel Maria of Liechtenstein was born 27 May 2003 in New York City, and is the eldest son of Prince Constantin and Princess Marie{Source}. He has two younger siblings{Source}:
He is presently 8th in line for the throne after two uncles, four cousins and his father.

The ten year old is likely kept from the limelight due to his distance to the throne and young age.

In 2012, he joined the rest of the Princely family to celebrate Liechtenstein's National Day {Photos}.

It is likely that he speaks German, as it is the official language of Liechtenstein.

Tuesday 21 May: Charity Soccer/Football match Day

Charlotte Marie Pomeline Casiraghi & Andrea Albert Pierre Casiraghi cheered on little brother Pierre Rainier Stefano Casiraghi and little cousin Louis Robert Paul Ducruet from the sidelines, after the game the brother and sister pair presented the trophy and  posed photos with the winning team {Photos}{Photos}. Also in attendance was Princess Stephanie, cheering on her youngest nephew, son and daughter's boyfriend, Paul-Noël Ettori and his father Jean Ettori {Photos}.  Pauline Grace Maguy Ducruet, along with her Princely Couple Aunt and Uncle, and school-aged cousin and half-sister Princess Alexandra of Hanover & Camille Gottlieb, were notably absent from this event. Prince Albert was attending the 36th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting{Source}, while Princess Charlene attended the  Lova World Images party during The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.

Miss Ducruet was likely wrapping up her exams in Paris at Fashion School, and the Monaco Grand Prix break for Monégasque schools didn't start until after school that day and the match was scheduled for 7PM Monaco time, and the girls likely had homework to attend to before a busy weekend at the races.

Thursday 23 May: Free Practice Day 1

Today was a day for  Monaco's princely family to wander and mingle among their VIP tourists and guests of the Principality. Prince Albert was spotted mingling with race car teams and drivers along side his wife Princess Charlene {Photos}. The princely couple were even spotted greeting one another with a quick kiss hello on the cheek {Photo}. Princess Charlene's brother, Gareth Wittstock was also in attendance {Photo} {Ed note: That MAY be youngest brother Sean behind Gareth in the photo. I'm not entirely positive. The guy in the white jacket-thoughts?}

Princess Charlene  and her brother Garreth Wittstock attended the  Roberto Cavalli the Yacht Party  on Thursday evening.

Friday 24 May: Operation Poseidon & Amber Lounge Fashion Show

Prince Albert & Princess Charlene attended the Operation Poseidon event at Fort Antoine {Photos}. Meanwhile, the Prince's nephew, Pierre Rainer Stefano Casiraghi  was spotted  visiting the Monte Carlo Grand Prix race circuit {Photos}.

Prince Albert II & Princess Charlene also were on hand at the Yacht Club de Monaco for a presentation of the new ambassadors for Princess Charlene's Foundation,  Fondation Princesse Charlene de Monaco.

In the evening was the Amber Lounge Fashion Show and Charity Auction to benefit the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, however no one from the Princely Family was in attendance.

Saturday 25th May: Final Practice Day and Qualifying Sessions

Prince Albert II  was on hand, along with numerous VIPS, including French motor sport excutive Jean Todt, and  F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone {Photos} to attend the Qualifying sessions for the Monaco Grand Prix scheduled for Sunday.

Prince Albert joined Princess Charlene also met with beneficiaries of Princess Charlene's Foundation, when they attended the final practice day {Photos}

Prince Albert also attended the TAG Heuer 2013 Monaco Grand Prix Party in the evening {Photos}

Sunday 26th May: GRAND PRIX DAY!

The race started with all of the glitz and glamour, per usual. The celebrities were out in full force. David Hassellhoff was there with his girlfriend Hayley Roberts were there. So was Cameron Diaz, Flavio Briatore, Elisabetta Gregoraci and their son Falco Nathan. Former WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler was there. Michael Douglas and Ron Howard were there too. This event wasn't just the who's-who of the racing world, but also of the Glamour world. If you were someone, you were in Monaco at the Grand Prix {Photos}.

In attendance from the Princely family were Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, Andrea Albert Pierre Casiraghi and Pierre Rainier Stefano Casiraghi. Also in attendance accompanying their long-time lovers were Tatiana Santo Domingo and Beatrice Borromeo. Notably absent were newborn Sacha Casiraghi-Santo Domingo and Charlotte Marie Pomeline Casiraghi. The family watched the race from their private box. During the Awards ceremony at the end of the Race, the princely family posed with the three winners and awarded the trophies {Photos}

After the race was over, the Prince and his wife attended the traditional Grand Prix Gala {Photos}{Photos}.

Royal Profile: Crown Prince Fredrik of Denmark

Crown Frederik André Henrik Christian of Denmark,  Count of Monpezat, was born on 26 May 1968, the elder of two sons to Queen Margarethe II & Prince Henrik of Denmark {Source}. He is first in line to succeed to the throne and is the regent when HM The Queen is out of the country {Source}. 

He was christened at Holmens Kirke (the naval church) on 24 June 1968  {Source}. His godparents were{Source}:

  • Prince Georg of Denmark (his maternal 3rd cousin 1x removed) 
  • Queen Anne-Marie of The Hellenes (his maternal aunt)

Denmark's future King attended the Krebs' Skole from 1974-1981. His early years (1974-1976), he was associated with the school via a private tutor {Source}. Royal Profile:Tāne Mahuta Lewis

Tāne Mahuta Lewis was born 25 May 2012, the second child of Lady Davina Lewis and her husband, New Zealander carpenter and a surfing enthusiast, Gary Lewis {Source}.

He is 26th in line for the throne after his mother {Source}. However, once the new succession laws go into place, and with the birth of Baby Cambridge in July, Tāne will be 28th in line after his sister (Ed note: The new laws state that the oldest child regardless of gender born after 28 October 2011 does not have male-order preferenece{Source}).

Due to his age and distance to the throne, he is primarily kept from the limelight. He resides in New Zeland with his sister, and parents.


Royal Profile: Princess Laurentien of The Netherlands

Petra Laurentien Brinkhorst (aka Princess Laurentien) was born in Leiden on 25 May 1966 to Laurens Jan Brinkhorst and Jantien Brinkhorst-Heringa {Source}.


She attended school in The Netherlands, and in Japan{Source}. She received her Baccalauréat  from Lycée français in Japan{Source}. She studied history at  Groningen University{Source}, earning a foundations degree in 1986{Source}. She then attended Queen Mary College, London University, where she studied political science in 1989{Source}. In 1991, she earned a Master of Journalism from the University of California at Berkeley{Source}

She married Prince Constantijn on 17 May 2001 {Source}. Together, they have three children{Source}:


The family lives in Brussels{Source}.

In addition to her royal duties, she works as a freelance communications consultant {Source}. Since 2008, she has worked for the European Climate Foundation {Source}. In 2009, she  set up the Missing Chapter Foundation{Source}.

One of the Princess's major causes involved the environment and environmential issues{Source}. She is actively involved with the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), especially with their "Rewildingn Europe" inititiave{Source}.On 1 November 2012, she was appointed President of Fauna & Flora International (FFI){Source}{Source} A second major cause for the princess is promoting literacy{Source}. She is chair of the Stichting Lezen & Zchrijven {Source}. On 24 March 2009, Princess Laurentien was designated UNESCO Special Envoy on Literacy for Development {Source}. Royal Profile: Prince Joseph Wenzel of Liechtenstein, Count Rietberg

Prince Joseph Wenzel Maximilian Maria of Liechtenstein, Count Rietberg was born 24 May 1995 in London, England, the eldest son of Prince Alois & Princess Sophie {Source}. 

The 18 year old is 2nd in line for for the throne of Liechtenstein and third in line for the Jacobite claim to the thrones of England, Scotland, Ireland and France after his mother {Source}.

He has three younger siblings:
  • Princess Marie-Caroline (1996)
  • Prince Georg-Antonius (1999)
  • Prince Nikolaus (2000)

He was named for{Source}:
  • Joseph Wenzel: for his ancestor with the same name who was reigning prince of Liechtenstein from 1712- to 1718 and from 1748-1772.
  • Maximilian: for his maternal grandfather and his paternal uncle (and godfather), both who are named Maxililian. 
  •  Maria: per tradition with Catholic royalty, in honor of the Virgin Mary

Royal Profile:Count Christian of Rosenborg

Count Christian of Rosenborg was born 22 October 1942 as Prince Christian of Denmark and Iceland, and the younger son of HRH Knud, Hereditary Prince of Denmark  and Princess Caroline-Mathilde of Denmark. Upon his birth, he was in line for the throne ahead of his cousin Princess Margarthe and her sisters due to male-preferential succession. However, in 1953, the Danish succession laws changed to allow Princess Margarethe and her sisters to inherit the throne{Source}.  With the thoughts of him ever inheriting the throne being at the forefront, Prince Christian chose to forfeit his rights to the throne by marrying without consent of the monarch and Council of State.

Permissions were not sought because it was expected to be denied as his fiancee was an untitled an untitled commoner {Billed-Bladet, (Interview with Count Christian of Rosenborg), 1985, Danish}. At that time, he was given the title Couunt of Rosenborg and the style Your Excellency.

He was married to Anne Dorte Maltoft-Nielsen on 27 February 1971. Together, they had three children, who gave them seven grandchildren:
  • Countess Josephine Caroline Elisabeth of Rosenborg (b. 29 October 1972), married 1998 with two children:
    • Julius Christian Emil Schmidt af Rosenborg (2001) 
    • Clara Dorte Elisabeth Schmidt af Rosenborg (2004) 
  • Countess Camilla Alexandrine Cristine of Rosenborg (b. 29 October 1972), married 1995, four children: 
    • Anastasia Caroline Amalie Rosanes af Rosenborg (b. 24 November 1997) 
    • Ludwig Christian Mikael Rosanes af Rosenborg (b. 5 June 2000) 
    • Leopold Christian Ingolf Rosanes af Rosenborg (b. 15 April 2005) 
    • Theodor Christian Emanuel Rosanes af Rosenborg (b. 19 June 2008) 
  • Countess Feodora Mathilde Helena of Rosenborg (b. 27 February 197), married firstly in 2004  and divorced in 2005, without issue. Feodora married secondly on 8 September 2008  one daughter: 
    • Caroline-Mathilde Margrethe Rønnow af Rosenborg (b. 1 February 2009)
Over the last few years, Count Christian and his wife have attended many family events such as his 1st cousin 1x removed's (Crown Prince Fredrik) wedding in 2004, the memorial service for Empress Maria Feodorovna in 2006, the celebrations for the 75th birthday of Henrik, Prince Consort in 2009 and the ruby jubilee celebrations for his niece, Queen Margarethe in 2012. Other than that, the Count has primarily led a private life.

Count Christian died at Gentofte Hospital in Hellerup, Denmark

According to the Official Danish Monarchy website, the funeral will take place Wednesday, 29 May 2013 at Lyngby Church just north of Copenhagen {Source}. Also according to the Official Danish Monarchy website, the following members of the Royal Family will be in attendance: Queen Margarethe II, Henrik, Prince Consort, Princess Benedikte & Princess Marie {Source} Crown Princess Mary is presently visiting Maylasia, Crown Prince Fredrik is in Russia, and I have no idea where Prince Joachim or Prince Richard (Richard-Benedikte's husband) or Benedikte's children are. I also imagine that the above listed children (and perhaps some of the grandchildren?) will be there.

Royal Profile: Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece

Crown Prince Pavlos was born in Athens on May 20th 1967 {Source}. At seven months old, he moved with his family to Rome, before settling in London in 1974{Source}. He attended the Hellenic College, founded by his parents, King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie{Source}.

The Crown Prince graduated the United World College in 1986 Prince Pavlos graduated the Georgetown School of Foreign Service in International Relations, Law and Organisation in 1993 and the Georgetown Masters School of Foreign Service with a Masters Degree in Foreign Relations and Economics - specialising in Eastern Europe and the Balkans{Source}.

After finishing at UWC, he went on to serve as a Lieutenant in the British Army{Source}. . He completed his officer training at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and was awarded the position of Commandant' Stick Orderly{Source}.. He was then awarded a Short Service Commission in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, where he served for three years{Source}..


Between 1995 and 1997, Crown Prince Pavlos was employed by the Charles R. Weber Company Inc. in the operation and marketing departments{Source}\.. In February 1997, he co-founded Griphon Asset Management, an alternative investment fund-of-funds{Source}.. In November 1998, he co-founded Ivory Capital Group LLC, an investment firm dedicated to managing private investment partnerships, which include a fundamental value based hedge fund and a fund-of-funds{Source}..

In 2002 he co-founded Ortelius Capital Partners LLC, an alternative asset management group specializing in hedge funds, while in 2003 he co-founded Brigantine, a value based equity fund{Source}..

Crown Prince Pavlos married Marie-Chantal Miller, (HRH Princess Marie-Chantal), in London, in 1995{Source}.

Royal Profile: Lady Cosima Rose Alexandra Windsor

Lady Cosima Rose Alexandra Windsor was born 20 May 2010, the younger of two children of Alexander Windsor, Earl of Ulster and Claire, Countess of Ulster {Source}.

She is one of 6 grandchildren of The Duke & Duchess of Gloucester.

The little girl is presently 24th in line for the British Throne.

Due to her age, and distance to the throne, little is known about her and she is primarily kept from the public eye. Her father works as a Director of Transnational Crisis Project and is a former British Army officer {Source} Her mother is a doctor. She has one younger brother, Xan Windsor, Lord Culloden.


King Carl XVI Gustaf & Queen Silvia visit the USA

Day 1 (May 8)

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were joined by Princess Madeline and Mr. Christopher O'Neil for a
guided tour of the Castle Clinton national monument {Source}. After that, they took a boat to Ellis Island and then another boat to Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty {Source}.

Afterward, the pair of royal couples were spotted having lunch at the Red Rooster restaurant in Harlem{Source}

After lunch, the King & Queen said good-bye to their youngest daughter and future son-in-law, boarding a flight for Washington, DC {Source}.

That evening, Sweden's King & Queen attended a dinner at the Swedish Residence that was hosted by the Swedish Ambassador to the US {Source}.


Day 2 (May 9)

The King and Queen's day began with a memorial ceremony for Raoul Wallenberg at the Treasury before attending a meeting with the US Secretary of the Treasury {Source}, and they also took part in a seminar on the Arctic at The House of Sweden {Source}. During the ceremony, the King gave a speech to read his full speech, click here {Source}.

Afterward, the royal couple headed to visit the Library of Congress {Source}, visited the US Capitol{Source}, and met with Speaker of the House John Boehner {Source}. For lunch, they attended a luncheon hosted by Senator Johnny Isakson and Congressman Randall M. Hultgren. Hutlgren is Chairman of the Swedish Caucus{Source}.

After lunch, The King and Queen were given a guided tour of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian {Source}.

In the afternoon, the Swedish monarch and consort took part in a seminar on the Arctic{Source}.

Day 3 (May 10)


The third day of their US tour was a busy one! They began their day in Washington, DC, where they visited  the  National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, where they were received by the US Secretary of Defense{Source}

In the afternoon, it was off to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania{Source}. Upon their arrival in Philidelphia, they met with the city's mayor, who gave them a guided tour of his city {Source}. They also visited Philadelphia City Hall, Independence Hall and the American Swedish Historical Museum {Source}. The final activity of their day was a visit to  the Barnes Foundation {Source}.

Day 4 (May 11)

Their final day in the US was another busy one, which they were joined by the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland and his wife {Source}.

In the morning, the group attended a seminar at the Independence Seaport Museum {Source}. Afterward, they paid a visit to the Finnish Monument in Chester {Source}. They attended a luncheon at the Buena Vista Plantation that was hosted by the Governor of Deleware {Source}, where once again, King Carl XVI Gustaf gave another speech. After lunch, the Royal duo attended a Wilmington, Delaware celebration{Source}, and then sailed on a replica of the Kalmar Nyckel to Fort Christina {Source}. While at Fort Christina, they took part in a ceremony at the Delaware Monument in Fort Christina Park {Source}. Following the visit to Fort Christina, they were off to visit the Old Swedes Church to attend a service {Source}.

The day concluded  a reception and gala dinenr at the Chase Center where they were joined by Princess Madeline and Christopher O'Neil {Source}, and the King gave another speech {Source}.
